Evaluating the durability of hard-coated cover lens materials

Taber abrasion testing provides a controlled method of evaluating the abrasion and wear resistance of polymer cover lenses and hard-coated surfaces.

At Display Protect Solutions, our in-house Taber abrasion testing capability allows us to evaluate and compare the durability of materials, coatings and printed elements as part of our validation and development process.

Abrasion resistance testing can be used to evaluate and compare the durability of coated and uncoated polymer surfaces, hard-coat systems and printed elements.

This allows DPS to assess the resistance of surface-applied graphics, inks and coatings to repeated mechanical wear, with test parameters selected according to the material, finish and application requirements.
